Staying in touch with customers on a regular basis shows that you care and puts you in a better position to anticipate and meet customer needs.
Some ways to stay in touch:
- Call from time to time to find out how customers are doing.
- Send a personalized card with a heartfelt message.
- Create and send out a newsletter that discusses the top problems you help customers solve along with information about your products and services that help solve those problems.
- Make periodic sales calls to meet folks face to face if possible.
To really standout, send a card in July for one of the dates listed in the image above. Who else do you know that would send a card to celebrate National Chocolate Day and include a gift of chocolate? Send the card and gift to one of your toughest prospects and ask them to call when their gift arrives so you can make sure they received it. The call will come and you can get your foot in the door.
